Webchick on solving tricky issues in Drupal
Her best advice on Friday was to post an issue, "go make a sandwich, eat the sandwich", then go back and look at the issue queue. Quite often someone has already come to your rescue and solved the problem for you!
Cool people I met this week
- John Forsythe, creator of DrupalModules.com
- Shannon Lal, who's brother Kieran Lal is a principal at Acquia
- Angie Byron (aka webchick), a lead core Drupal developer, who also calls Montreal home
- Damien Tournoud, maintainer of the French translation for Drupal, and the lead of drupalfr.org
- Numerous others at the Drupal Meetups in Ottawa and Montreal
It was a great week for networking.
Blogging in Reverse
In November, the last time I posted here, I hoped to restart my blogging effort as I made the big move to South Africa. We now know that wasn't meant to be. I'd like to think this was in part because, as more and more blog-worthy stuff happened all around me, I didn't wanted to blog about most recent items until doing justice to the earlier, yet-to-be-blogged, items. It was a busy time in my life and I ended up with a serious back-log of blog-worthy material.
So what happened yesterday? And the day before that? You'll have to wait until tomorrow to find out.
Anybody home?
I must confess. I am no longer a regular blogger. I began blogging when I moved to Ottawa in 2005 to help document the trip and to keep in touch with those at home (these were pre-Facebook times). I've been back from Ottawa for two years, and almost 10 months has passed now since my last post.
I do, however, expect to resume blogging when I move to South Africa in November.
Do check out the flickr del.icio.us feeds to the right. They are current.
If you would like to stay in touch, it's best to add me to Facebook or write me an email.
