Back to Ottawa

Just a couple more highlights from Toronto while I'm still on the road...

Stayed at the Toronto Hilton:

(amazing beds!)

Elizabeth and I spent the better part of a full day in the Eaton Centre yesterday. It was packed, of course... and well decorated:

Holidays in Ottawa

Hey everybody.. I guess its been a little while since I've posted so here's an update.

I finished final exams last Tuesday, and now I'm enjoying the holidays from Ottawa. I've been here since Tuesday

Elizabeth's (girlfriend, not grandmother!) parents, her and I flew up on Tuesday to spend Christmas with Elizabeth's father's side of the family, something they don't usually get to do. While we've been up here, Liz and I took the train to Toronto and spent the day shopping! We stayed overnight, and came back on Christmas Eve afternoon. Elizabeth's parents fly back to Charlottetown on Boxing Day, but I'm coming home on Christmas day around noon.

Merry Christmas!

IggyMaps breaks 100

Back in September I wrote a little web application for Matt Campbell, a good friend of mine and the brain behind Iggy Nation, a youth supporters web site for Michael Ignatieff's bid to become the next leader of the Liberal Party.

This application let supporters of "Iggy" enter their postal code, a picture of themselves, and some personal info, and the application geocoded their address, resized their photo, and added them to a Google Map. The end result now is a flurry of red balloons across the country as people add their faces in support of his campaign.

Sometime in the last day or two, the 100th supporter added their face to the Iggy Nation map. There's only three weeks left in the leadership campaign... I'm hoping it breaks at least 200.
